Most
of the styles of windows and doors we carry are available
in impact-resistant
models that meet or exceed all code requirements for
South Florida. These items are
produced with heavy-duty frames and a tough plastic
or polyvinyl interlayer sandwiched between two pieces
of glass. The glass is tested to withstand the impact
of a two-by-four weighing nine pounds and traveling
at 50 feet per second. One advantage is that if a storm
is approaching, all the homeowner needs to do is make
sure the windows and
doors are locked. they are also noise-resistant and
they add security.
Their
insulating properties also impress homeowners
with hurricane-resistant windows and doors,
as they can lower your energy bills significantly.
Impact-resistant windows include casement, single-hung,
and horizontal rollers, as well as any of our
architectural (fixed) styles.
In doors, you can order impact-resistant storefront,
french, or sliding glass.
